Printmaker Deborah Cool-Flowers, whose studio and residence are next to Hueco Rock Ranch, re-creates rock art images as etchings on handmade paper. Her work is on display at Hueco Tanks State Historic Site, Texas Parks & Wildlife and New Mexico State Capitol Building. A certified rock art guide at Hueco Tanks since 1999, Deborah has been invited to show her Rock Art on Paper Collection (www.rockartonpaper.com) and to speak on rock art at the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology in Albuquerque, the El Paso Museum of Archeology and the Anasazi State Park and Museum in Boulder, Utah. Along with the perspective into her presentation, explaining why some authorities claim that rock art is not art at all - and refuting that claim.
